"Gotta Feed the Young 'Un"
I am constantly amazed by the faithfulness of birds. They build their homes out of whatever's available, carefully creating a place for their families. They sit on nests through all kinds of weather, incubating their eggs. They feed and feed and feed their offspring, even after the little ones have fledged. Sometimes they do all this multiple times in a season. They are amazing examples of commitment! Here a swallow-tailed bee-eater (Merops hirundineus) feeds its demanding youngster, who is almost as big as the parent and probably eats just as much or more.
