Cape gannets (Morus capensis) are such distinctive-looking birds. On top of that, they have fascinating courtship displays. A pair will swivel their heads and beaks as they point them skyward, tapping each other. Then they swivel back down and start all over again. Taken at Lambert's Bay, South Africa, Africa. It is one of only six islands where the cape gannets breed. The species is listed as endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species at iucnredlist.org.
