We had been just barely on track to get back to Colorado in time for our grandson's 7th birthday. Then a sudden snowstorm hit Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah. James, as he was driving us through Utah, said, "I think we should take a detour to Bryce for two days and then just drive like crazy on the day of the birthday." We did and we made it to both Bryce and the birthday. Whew! So this is the shot that I almost didn't get at Bryce, and it became one of my favorites taken there.
