"Attention to Detail"
Interior detail of the Peter French Round Barn. It was built in the late 1870's or early 1880's, exact date unknown. The intricate construction was of juniper poles, lodgepole pine boards, and stone. I am just amazed at what Peter French accomplished in a time before CAD programs, and other modern conveniences!
To get this photo required quite a bit of planning. On my first visit to this historic barn, I wasn't feeling well because of a bad case of vertigo. Even to look up slightly caused me to lose my sense of balance. I vowed to return when I was feeling better, and did. I brought some helpful things the second time: A full-frame camera, a wide-angle lens, a mat so that I could lie down on the ground (the floor of the barn is just dirt), and my tripod. This all helped in getting the photos that I really wanted, including this one.
Taken in Harney County, Oregon, USA.
