One day when we were out in the Eastern Sierra, we took some time to go to Devils Postpile National Monument. I decided to take a hike up to the top of some basalt columns, and while I was hiking a big rainstorm came through. When I reached the top, the wonderful hexagonal forms of the basalt were wet after the rain and looked great as they reflected the light. The coolest pine tree was up there, growing right out of the basalt and with a bonsai form. So glad I went up there despite getting soaked in the crazy weather! Taken at Devils Postpile National Monument, California, USA.
